INDEPENDENT PUBLISHING
Reseach & Academic writing, Editorial design

Independent Publishing: Critical Design

A self-authored research and design publication exploring how inspiration travels across cultures, contexts, and audiences.

  • Authored original writing and analysis on design ethics.

  • Conducted research on artefacts, cultural meaning, and audience perception.

  • Designed a book-like presentation combining photography, AI-generated visuals, and narrative.

This work reflects an ethically conscious approach to design, where I explored how creative inspiration can be used responsibly across cultural contexts. I consistently approached the project with a user-focused mindset, aiming to translate complex research into an accessible, engaging publication. By treating publishing as both design practice and user advocacy, I positioned the work to champion inclusivity and clarity for its audience.

Research & Academic Publishing

An academic-leaning research project combining photography, critical reflection, and cultural analysis.

  • Wrote critical reflections comparing real photography vs. AI-generated images.

  • Documented a design-related lawsuit with analysis of sources, media representation, and ethics.

  • Developed an editorial-style workbook of research findings.

This project emphasized critical user research and advocacy, drawing connections between visual representation, law, and design ethics. I approached the work as a publisher of research, tailoring content for clarity, transparency, and relevance to its audience. The project demonstrates how editorial publishing can not only document findings but also surface ethical issues and champion user needs within cultural and design contexts.
